FIVE SEASONS TRANSPORTATION & PARKING OFFERS
SUMMER ‘BUS RIDE BREAK’ PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS
Cedar Rapids, IA - Five Seasons Transportation & Parking is offering a
summer ‘Bus Ride Break’ Program for students ages 5 through 18. The
program allows all students to ride the bus at half fare cost – 50
cents. The half fare price is for cash fare only and will be available
from June 4 until August 21, 2007. The purpose of the program is to
encourage all students to utilize local transit services to area
attractions such as the city’s parks, pools, the Public Library and
many businesses throughout the Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha and Marion area.
“This is the first year for the Summer ‘Bus Ride Break’ Program and we
are doing what we can to encourage as many students to ride the bus as
possible,” said Brad DeBrower, Transit Operations Manager. The Summer
‘Bus Ride Break’ Program will be replacing the Summer Splash, Golf &
Go, Ice Express, and the Read & Ride programs. Instead of focusing on
just a few different options, the new program will give students
access to all areas in the Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha and Marion area that
the city bus now travels. For schedules and times, call 286-5573. The
program does not apply to bus tickets and passes.
